Friday’s ‘Clean Commute’ turning into a happening

“If the response I’ve received to Sunday’s “Clean Commute” column is any indication, this Friday may be the biggest “Clean Commute Day” Roanoke has ever seen…. And if things get really big, we have a chance to sentence the irrepressible “Car Less Brit” to another six months of two-wheeled transport….”

I’ll do another 6 months of carlessness if Roanoke gets 1000 pledges!

a challenge from Car Less Brit!

Do your part to keep Car Less Brit carless! And improve our air by taking the pledge to commute clean on May 15!

It’s very simple, pledge to use alternative transportation for just this one day, Friday May 15 - biking, walking, carpooling or public transit!

And, you are then eligible for great prizes including bike gear, a Giant Boulder Bike from Cardinal Bicycle, monthly passes on SmartWay and Valley Metro buses, gift certificates, coffee, and more!

Help the environment and keep Car Less Brit without a car! fun, fun, fun!

But you gotta register that u are taking the pledge at the Clean Commute Day site. It’s a really quick and easy thing to register, all online and not a tonne of questions to boot!

Clean Commute Day is part of the Roanoke Bike Month, click the link for a complete list of all events.
