the tuesday night lycra beer ride!

‘just back from the “Tuesday Night Lycra Beer Ride” hosted by Blue Ridge Bicycle Club, Roanoke, VA. It was a really great ride, very enjoyable.

We rode up Mill Mountain and then along the top of the mountains on the Blue Ridge Parkway for about 1.5 hours, covering about 25 miles.

It was the first time I have been able to ride all the way up Mill Mountain without stopping for a rest!

Come join us for the ride next week. We meet Tuesday 5:30 pm Transportation Museum parking lot, Salem Ave, downtown. All types and levels are welcome!

p.s. no, it’s not really called the Tuesday Night Lycra Beer Ride it’s just the “Tuesday Night Beer Ride”! The thing is, of about the 40 riders taking part, only me and a buddy, John W, were wearing baggy style bike shorts, all the others were in lycra style gear, hence my distorted title for the event! Unfortunately, I got all muddle headed being surrounded by so much lycra and promised for next weeks ride to be brave and bold and come geared up in form hugging lycra! John W did not make the same promise!
